"The Constitution is the main and the most important law. It is being amended in all the countries of the world. It is not a tragedy", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in an exclusive interview to the news agency "Intermediaconsulting", commenting upon the necessity of amending the Fundamental Law of Ukraine.

According to the politician, "it is a crucial fact that the Constitution is always an outcome of compromise for those who have the actual right and possibility to pass State resolutions", provided the political agreements are achieved.

Commenting upon the conclusions of the Venetian Commission regarding the Bill on Amendments to the Fundamental Law, proposed by Viktor Yushchenko, the First Vice-Chairman stated that "one should not idealize the conclusions; however, one should read them to understand how the foreign lawyers perceive the situation in Ukraine".

Commenting upon the place of Ukraine at the geopolitical map, the First Vice-Chairman refuted the statement that political-economic instability in our country was the result of the conflict of interests of the global political elites. "I do not believe that the Russian Federation and the EU are interested in it. It is rather vice versa. Then they will be able to deal with us, obtaining certain advantages for themselves", - stated O.Lavrynovych.
